Information Society has successfully completed yet another project of great importance for strengthening the country’s civil protection infrastructure and operational readiness.
This is the project “Procurement of Weather Stations for Early Warning of Natural Disasters”, which involves upgrading the collection and utilisation of meteorological and climatological data, thereby significantly contributing to the prevention and management of extreme weather events.
It was implemented as part of the Civil Protection Programme “AEGIS”, with funding from the Recovery and Resilience Fund and the “Civil Protection 2021-2027” Operational Programme.
The event to present the project was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr Athanasios Davakis, as well as the Minister for the Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Mr Evangelos Tournas, highlighting the strategic importance of the project for the country’s defence.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Information Society, Dimitris Askounis, emphasised in his opening address the crucial role of the timely implementation of projects that enhance the capabilities of the public administration and harness modern technologies for the benefit of society.
Information Society continues to implement high added value projects, with a focus on public safety, the country’s resilience and its modern digital transformation.
