NFORMATION SOCIETY / REPORT 2019 – 2023
Since 2019, we have been planning and implementing the digital future of Greece, and we are still going strong…
For the past 4.5 years, Information Society, as the central hub of the Ministry of Digital Governance regarding the development of digital transformation projects, has been planning and implementing a future for Greece, thus building a relationship of trust between the state and the citizens.
In this newsletter, we have the honour and pleasure to present a special report on the actions of Information Society during 2019-2023.
The report provides information about the 22 years we have been in operation, our actions and projects, our collaborations and initiatives for strengthening our corporate culture, and it also contains a “list” of the projects that have been completed during this time.
Moreover, it presents the programme agreements for the period 2019-2023, as well as the role of Information Society in the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”.
At the same time, special reference is made to our participation in European digital governance projects, as well as in digitally sustainable development.
Furthermore, Information Society’s business report also presents the process of transitioning to the new era, the new challenges and opportunities, as well as the corporate social responsibility and sustainable development actions that have been undertaken by Information Society.

We have established a modern framework for the interaction of citizens with the State, introducing digital tools and citizen-friendly procedures in all public services.

We manage over 360 digital projects in various stages of maturity. Many of them are funded by the “National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Greece 2.0”. The demands are great and the schedules are tight.

Guided by the past, we will succeed in the future. Our track record so far is proof of our capabilities and our commitment to efficiency in terms of time, cost and quality.

Our goal is to have digitized almost all of the services provided by the State to citizens by 2027.
This is our greatest challenge in the years to come.

Stavros Asthenidis
CEO of Information Society
Mr Stavros Asthenidis, in view of this four-year review, highlighted:
“The digital transformation is perhaps the most important revolution of our times. In the past four years, Information Society has been a major player in strengthening the digital relationship between citizens and the Public Administration, and it managed to successfully and consistently fulfil its demanding role according to the needs and the difficulties it had to face. It is in the company’s DNA to work for a better, technologically equipped Public, which has the appropriate digital tools. We are already planning the next steps. The IS, under the guidance of the Ministry of Digital Governance, which is leading this super effort, in cooperation with all public services, will continue to implement the digital transformation, will strengthen digital capabilities so that public officials can operate more efficiently, will respond immediately and effectively to social needs. And it will certainly continue to grow dynamically.”
