Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainable Development

Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept that has recently taken root in the minds of citizens. It is now a key feature for businesses aiming to address environmental and social issues.
Specifically, businesses are entities inextricably linked to the societies in which they operate, both influencing and being influenced by modern standards and developments in their field, in a continuous effort to strengthen the economic environment, to promote the open dialogue with stakeholders and to ensure the active participation of businesses in society.
At Information Society, we believe that Corporate Responsibility concern all of us. It is the responsibility we have for our impact on society, the environment, as well as human beings.
We have been participating as an active Member since 2021 in the efforts of the Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR Hellas – which aims at promoting and showcasing Corporate Responsibility both in business and society as a whole, as well as in order to achieve balance between profitability and sustainable development.
By making Corporate Social Responsibility a key priority in our operations, we have implemented multiple actions with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations as our main guide, particularly by focusing on strengthening specific values set by the company, namely the following:

Society
Set of projects and actions that facilitate the daily life of citizens and businesses by integrating them in a digital environment, with the main purpose of serving citizens and businesses mainly in matters of bureaucracy, but also ensuring their reliable and effective operation for the benefit of society.

Economy
Important technological projects which serve as a beacon for strengthening many different industries, creating additional conditions for the development of many thereof and contributing to the growth of the national economy.

Environment
Design and implementation of projects aiming at a positive energy footprint, mainly by substituting thousands of tons of paper with digital databases through the process of digitisation.

Employees
A key priority of Information Society is to ensure ideal working conditions for the people who work in the company, ensuring security, meritocracy and equal opportunities for development, as well as constant growth in line with the requirements of modern times.
We approach all these services and initiatives by creating added value in the daily lives of citizens and businesses. Achieving these objectives is a big challenge for Information Society, but also a huge opportunity to further increase the targeting of projects and actions that will contribute decisively to the development of a sustainable Greece. By adopting the above, a corporate culture is stablished with the intention of operating responsibly in all areas that constitute important development axes.

Sustainable Development
Sustainable Development is an ongoing process of change and adaptation, rather than a static condition.
The objective of Sustainable Development is to meet the present needs, without, however, limiting the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, through the balanced and equal pursuit of the Sustainable Development pillars: Society – Economy – Environmental Protection – Employees, as analysed in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015 in the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
However, it is neither simple nor easy to achieve Sustainable Development without the use of Digital Technology. In order to enhance its role in sustainable development actions, Information Society carried out a research with the aim of identifying the challenges and opportunities for sustainable development in the Greek public sector and providing information on how to improve their practices and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
