The cleaning of Alimos beach from litter and cigarette butts was carried out on Sunday morning, May 18, by volunteers, NGOs and networks, as part of the action “Delete Pollution, Upload Clean Coasts”, which took place on the initiative of the Information Society with the assistance of the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance and was co-organised by the Municipality of Alimos.

Aiming at the acquisition of high-speed broadband connections and the promotion of digital transformation in Greece, the “Information Society SA” (Information Society S.M.S.A.) is implementing two innovative programmes, Smart Readiness and Gigabit Voucher. These programmes form the core of the Ministry of Digital Governance's strategy for the digital upgrading of the country and are implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0, with funding from the European Union - NextGenerationEU, and enhance the creation of modern digital infrastructure, access to high-speed broadband services, as well as the "smart readiness" of buildings.
