In the presence of the Minister of Culture, Ms. Lina Mendoni, a workshop on the project “Integrated Information System for the Identification and Certification of Greek Museums” was held on Monday 10 February. This is a project implemented by the “Information Society SA” with the Ministry of Culture and Sports as the project owner.
In her speech, Ms Mendoni stressed that modern museums must educate, inspire and remain accessible and inclusive, while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.
The General Director of Projects of the “Information Society SA”, Mr Dimitris Giantsis said: “We are particularly happy, as the “Information Society SA”, when we see the projects we have undertaken being completed without any delay and with the quality desired by the Operating Body. The Integrated Information System for the Identification and Certification of Greek Museums is such a good example of a project and this result is the product of the close cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Sports with the “Information Society SA” and the contractor association”.
The new Integrated Information System offers standardisation and coordination of the Identification and Certification procedures, saving human and material resources, enhancing transparency and creating a digital knowledge repository. It aims, therefore, to digitise and automate the identification and certification procedures of Greek museums. It is funded by the Operational Programme “Public Sector Reform” and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the NSRF.
