The rapid adoption of new advanced technologies in the public sector (e.g. AI) and the automation of procedures through the use of robotic systems (Robotic Process Automation) in 11 public sector institutions, achieved through the two flagship projects with a total budget of 235 million EUR (G – Cloud Next Generation and the provision of centralised cloud-computing infrastructure and Public Cloud services), which are already in productive operation and implemented by the “Information Society SA”, was highlighted by the Director General of Projects of the “Information Society SA”, Mr Dimitrios Giantsis during the Cloud Computing Forum conference, which was successfully organised for the 11th year.

The aim of the conference was to highlight the catalytic impact of the cloud today on the growth of organisations and as the necessary means to transition to the business models of today and tomorrow. At the same time, it was a meeting point for cloud professionals, bringing together cloud service providers and data centre infrastructure providers, international speakers, leading industry personalities and major customers investing in the cloud, creating an environment for networking, exchanging views and experiences.

Mr Giantsis said that 2025 is a milestone year for the “Information Society SA”, which aims to complete most of the projects it has undertaken on time and in the quality specified, adding that: “The implementation of these two flagship projects, strengthen the infrastructure of the government cloud (G-CLOUD) in line with the standards of the hybrid cloud computing, ensure the business continuity of the information systems and services of the Public Bodies, helps to achieve the maximum economy of scale and, in addition, provides new innovative cloud services, thus being a key pillar of the digital transformation of the country”.
