Mr Dimitris Giantsis was one of the speakers in the conference “New Transport Map of Thessaloniki”, organized by OSETH (Thessaloniki Transport Authority) on Tuesday, September 3, at The Met Hotel.
During his speech, the General Director of Projects at Information Society pointed out that: “We will continue our intensive efforts for the successful and timely completion of OSETH’s Digital Transformation, in order to ensure and to speed up the transition of passenger transport in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki into a new era, through a high-level integrated transport system based on the principles of sustainable mobility. The successful completion of this project will lead to particularly significant and immediately apparent benefits for the citizens of Thessaloniki.
The role of Information Society S.A. in all projects, particularly in complex projects such as this one, involving many stakeholders who often have different starting positions, different cultures and objectives, is to form opinions, keep things running smoothly and find solutions to implementation-related problems, finally organising a homogeneous project team that works quickly and with dedication towards a shared goal, i.e. the successful completion of the project in terms of time, cost and quality.
That being said and to sum up, I would like to emphasize once again that Information Society S.A. is committed to making all possible efforts in order to ensure the successful completion of the project.”
This project, implemented by Information Society for OSETH, includes indicatively the following:
- Telematics and passenger information system
- Automated fare collection system, based on electronic tickets
- Information system for route and service planning and optimisation
