On 18 February 2023 the Ministry of Digital Governance, in the presence of the Prime Minister, held an event at the Athens Concert Hall for the three years of operation of gov.gr.
The CEO of Information Society, Stavros Asthenidis, in a relevant discussion held during the event, referring to gov.gr, noted that some projects may not be complex but have a huge social impact, such as the solemn declaration and the authenticity of the signature. “We are trying to make the life of the citizen better and this is achieved through gov.gr and it will become even better with the new services with the great immersion of digital services through gov.gr today”.
The CEO of Information Society noted that “At the moment we have a big challenge with this “avalanche” of projects that we are called upon to manage until the end of the Recovery Fund in 2025. Over the past three and a half years, Information Society, which is the central hub of the Ministry of Digital Governance for the planning, development and implementation of projects that strengthen the citizen’s digital relationship with the Public Administration, manages more than 340 projects in various stages of maturity with a total budget of 4.3 billion Euros”.
He also mentioned that there are some major digitization projects, mainly for Justice and Health, as well as for sectors such as shipping, land registry, town planning and the General State Archives, for which the IT market has shown a strong interest.
