An important project for the country’s diplomacy is being completed by the Information Society on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ‘Global Media Center (GMC) Platform’ is undoubtedly a modern digital tool, which supports the needs of the MFA for news management and analysis, maps the international media and collects a valuable archive of news content, press reviews and audiovisual material.

The multilateral importance of the Global Media Center was praised in his address during the presentation of the project, which took place at the Foreign Ministry’s ‘Giannos Kranidiotis’ amphitheatre, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr George Gerapetritis.

The GMC platform is one of the four sub-projects of the ‘Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Action, which is co-funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund and the Public Investment Programme and implemented by the ‘Information Society’, the model organisation for the design management and implementation of digital transformation projects and actions of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

The Global Media Center, as the CEO of the ‘Information Society’, Mr. Stavros Asthenidis, will enter into productive operation on 31 March 2026. The end users of the platform will all be Foreign Ministry officials involved in the management of international news issues.
