Greece is at a critical juncture in its digital transformation, with the “Information Society SA” (IS), being the central node for the planning, development and implementation of the Ministry of Digital Governance's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects in the public sector, assuming the role of pioneer in building a modern, efficient and accessible state for every citizen.
The new cycle of the 'Digital Transactions' programme starts today and ends on Friday, 11 July.
The new Information System of the Bar Associations is a project of national importance for the digital transformation of the legal practice and justice, implemented by the Information Society. The system was presented on Thursday, 12 June by the Plenary of Greek Bar Associations organisation, with the main speaker being Information Society’s General Director of Projects, Mr. Dimitris Giantsis.
Two highly successful webinars entitled 'Introduction to Innovation Contracts' were held by Information Society in the framework of the GRdigiGOV-innoHUB project, garnering a great reaction.
With the operation of the platform, implemented by the ‘Information Society’, which is the central design, development and implementation hub of the Ministry of Digital Governance, the welfare of pet animals and responsible ownership is enhanced.
At the event organised today by the Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights and the Ministry of Digital Governance on the Integrated Information System for the modernisation of the operation of the Hellenic Court of Audit, Mr Stavros Asthenidis, CEO of “Information Society”, addressed the event participants.
Mr Dimitrios Giantsis, General Director of Projects of “Information Society”, represented the company at the recent Delphi Economic Forum. Speaking about the “Information Society” actions, he stressed: "The national target set by the Government and the Ministry of Digital Governance is that by 2027, almost all services provided by the state to citizens should be digitised. This is our greatest challenge in the years to come.”
"The digital transformation of Justice is not only a technological innovation but also an institutional challenge, which can substantially upgrade the quality of Justice and the trust of citizens in it", stressed during his speech at the presentation of the projects "Teleconferencing Services in Courts and Penitentiary Institutions" and "Electronic Docket - Trial Course Update", the CEO of the “Information Society SA”, Mr Stavros Asthenidis.
"The use of new technologies and artificial intelligence was one of the primary objectives that we set from the beginning in the Ministry", stressed the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, at the event held for the signing of the contract for the National Crisis Management System and National Database.
Aiming at the acquisition of high-speed broadband connections and the promotion of digital transformation in Greece, the “Information Society SA” (Information Society S.M.S.A.) is implementing two innovative programmes, Smart Readiness and Gigabit Voucher. These programmes form the core of the Ministry of Digital Governance's strategy for the digital upgrading of the country and are implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0, with funding from the European Union - NextGenerationEU, and enhance the creation of modern digital infrastructure, access to high-speed broadband services, as well as the "smart readiness" of buildings.
