Signing of the contract for the Thessaloniki e-ticket

The contract for the project “Digital Transformation, Telematics, and Unified Automatic Fare Collection System for the Thessaloniki Transport Project Organization (TSETH)” was signed by the Information Society SA and TERNA ENERGY.

The contractor of the project is the Consortium TERNA ENERGY (70%) – INDIGITAL (15%) – AMCO (15%) while the total budget amounts to 30 million euros plus VAT.
The object of the project is the complete digital modernization of Transport Authority of Thessaloniki S.A., following the best practices of other transport operators in Europe.
With the implementation of the project, the public will enjoy better service, the internal organisation and operation of the organisation will be improved, while at the same time significant cost savings will be achieved.

On the basis of fulfilling the above objectives, a series of subsystems will be implemented and delivered interconnected in order to be able to operate as a unified system. Indicatively, the final integrated system will provide benefits such as:

  • ntegrated information for the travelling public,
  • better service for passengers through the use of cards and purchase of tickets via mobile phone,
  • improved service and faster boarding of passengers,
  • reduction of the operating costs of the Transport Authority of Thessaloniki S.A. and
  • reduction of fare evasion and increase in the revenue of the Transport Authority of Thessaloniki S.A.

Work is scheduled to commence on March 8, 2021 and it is anticipated that the Contractor will implement the scope of the project within a period of twelve (12) months from the signing of the Contract.

SA, Stavros Asthenidis.
