What is the object of the project?
The object of this sub-project 1 ‘Creating an information system’ as part of project Sub1 ‘Paying most social benefits by the use of prepaid cards’ is to create an integrated information system which —through interoperability with the information systems of, firstly, the Public Employment Service (DYPA) and the Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity Organisation (OPEKA) and, secondly, DIAS SA and banks— will allow for implementing the provision of social benefits by the use of prepaid cards.
What is the purpose of, and need for, the implementation of the project?
The main purpose of the contract is to create an integrated information system which —through interoperability with the information systems of, firstly, DYPA and OPEKA and, secondly, DIAS SA and banks— will allow for implementing the provision of social benefits by the use of prepaid cards. The use of prepaid cards by citizens will, firstly, offer them a modern means of making payments using the amounts granted by the DYPA and OPEKA and, secondly, help reduce tax evasion. ‘Information Society’ will, as implementing body, undertake to conduct the tender procedure and supervise the contractor’s work.
What are the objectives of the project?
The main axis of the project consists in providing a state-of-the-art integrated information system to support the implementation of the provision of social benefits by the use of prepaid cards. The object of the project includes the creation of software to enable users to easily and efficiently submit a new application, search for previously submitted applications and check the transactions already carried out. These functionalities will be duly accessible to DYPA and OPEKA employees, as well as to beneficiaries of social benefits.
What are the expected benefits from the implementation of the project?
The information system to be developed will allow beneficiaries to use prepaid cards. Thanks to using cards instead of cash, the money will be spent on covering basic needs, also combating tax evasion as vendors will have to issue legal receipts.
