What is the object of the project?
The object of the project consists in creating a digital platform for automated Q&As to assist the communication of citizens for the “Tourism for All 2025” Programme. More specifically, the contractor will create a software system of automated Q&As (unlimited number and always according to the needs and suggestions of the Contracting Authority), which will consist of a digital dialogue programme, will be based on Machine Learning statistical models, will support modern algorithms of Machine Learning, as well as of Natural Language Processing. Furthermore, through a suitable management environment, the administrator will be able to extract chatbot usage statistics via a GUI.
Chatbots are creating yet another communication channel between citizens and institutions, in addition to existing traditional channels such as call centres, automated voice portals, websites, ticketing systems, etc. Their main advantage is that they can be quite intelligent, they simulate human conversation, they are already ‘installed’ on user mobile phones as they run on top of existing written communication software, such as Facebook Messenger, they are able to remember data, options and preferences and they will be able to perform monetary transactions in the future. All this is done using a single environment in a natural language, which already exists in user mobile phones. Chatbots can function as an alternative means for the provision of services to citizens and anyone interacting with an Organisation in general.
