The Company
The IS S.A. is the executive support arm for the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) projects in the public sector.
It is at the forefront of the national digital transformation plan, implementing projects and state aid actions described in the country’s Digital Transformation Bible.
The company participates institutionally in the specialization of the digital strategy of the country, implements ICT projects financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds, the Public Investment Program, the Recovery Fund or through Public-Private Partnerships, supports the identification of needs in ICT projects and provides specialized support to organizations throughout the life cycle of the ICT projects they have been called upon to implement.
With great know-how and experience in the design, implementation, and management of innovative e-government projects and actions, its purpose today is to assist the Ministry of Digital Government in all actions and projects
- aimed at upgrading the online service of citizens and businesses,
- transparency,
- strengthening entrepreneurship and healthy competition,
- enhancing interoperability at all levels,
- to increase the productivity and efficiency of public bodies and the general improvement of Public Administration.
Establishment
Since its establishment in 2001, in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the then Operational Program “Information Society” and to avoid delays and problems that had been observed in the management of Operational IT Programs of the 1st 2nd Community Support Framework, it was an innovative project, even for the European reality, in the strategic approach to e-government.
Development
Since then, it is the main body for the implementation and management of systems and infrastructures of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of the Public Administration Bodies. The IT and telecommunications projects implemented by IS S.A., cover all sectors of Public Administration, are of great complexity, nationwide geographical dispersion and unique innovation, both technological and business, for the Greek reality.
Vision
Our Vision is for Information Society S.M.S.A. to become the model organization for the design, management, and implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) projects and actions. By leveraging its extensive experience in complex and demanding projects and utilizing advanced digital technologies, the Company aims to play a catalytic role in the country’s digital advancement and the digital transformation of society, public administration, and the economy.
Mission
Our Mission is to operate as a strategic partner of public administration, effectively, efficiently, and responsibly managing available resources. Through high-standard, transparent contract management and procurement processes, we will implement key digital projects and initiatives, significantly contributing to the creation of an upgraded and secure digital environment in the country.
