Information Society Single-Member S.A. informs citizens and enterprises that in the last few hours been cases of online fraud have been noticed, with perpetrators exploiting the “Gigabit Voucher” program to obtain personal and financial data.
The fraudsters send misleading SMS messages informing the public that:
In order to proceed with the activation of your service you will need to send us the Gigabit Voucher immediately. To issue and register the voucher follow the instructions you will find here bit.ly/gigabit-form. If you have already completed the above steps, please ignore this. Thank you
The misleading message also has the following characteristics:
Sender: GIGABIT
Request for Data: You are requested to send the Gigabit Voucher, issue and register the voucher via a link in the message.
Provider Link with title “Benefit from Vodafone Gigabit Voucher”.
Information Society Single-Member S.A. (IS SA) reminds:
- No personal or bank details are ever requested via email, SMS or telephone for inclusion in the programme.
- The participation process is carried out exclusively through the official website https://www.kep.gov.gr and the authorised providers.
We urge citizens:
- Not to click on any links in the message.
- Not to reply to the message.
- Even if they click on the link or reply to the message, do not provide any personal data.
- To delete the scam message immediately
We urge all beneficiaries to be particularly careful and inform the competent authorities immediately (complaint to the Cybercrime Division link) in case of suspicious communication.
