Greece is at a critical juncture in its digital transformation, with the “Information Society SA” (IS), being the central node for the planning, development and implementation of the Ministry of Digital Governance’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects in the public sector, assuming the role of pioneer in building a modern, efficient and accessible state for every citizen. In an interview with the Athens Macedonian News Agency, Stavros Asthenidis, CEO of “Information Society SA”, outlines the company’s achievements, challenges and future goals, with emphasis on guaranteeing the security of citizens in the ever-evolving digital world. In the last five years, the “Information Society SA” has successfully managed more than 300 public contracts with a total budget of almost €2 billion, thanks to the support of the Recovery Fund. “These numbers demonstrate our potential, however, we are not limited to achieving financial targets“, stressed Mr. Asthenidis. “We are undertaking important initiatives with a social dimension, such as the Power Pass, the Fuel Pass and Tourism for All, offering substantial support to citizens in need.”
