In his interview with “Newsit”, the Managing Director of the ‘Information Society’, Mr. Stavros Asthenidis, referred to the great effort made by the ‘Information Society’ for the digitisation of the Greek public sector and private enterprises over the last 6.5 years, so that “Greece has gone from being an outlier to constituting a digital example in the international environment”.
As highlighted, among others, by Mr. Asthenidis, more than 2,500 digital services are available through Gov.gr, including the majority of citizen’s transactions with the public sector, while one of the important projects that contribute further to the digitisation is the single digital infrastructure for serving citizens and businesses, also known as the CRM of the Greek public sector. This is an “umbrella project, which will serve as the focal point for interoperability between the state, citizens and businesses”, explains Mr. Asthenidis.
In conclusion, Mr. Asthenidis stressed that the ‘Information Society’ is currently implementing around 200 contracts, which are funded by the Recovery Fund and cover a wide range of digital actions.
