In his interview at Naftemporiki, the Managing Director of “Information Society”, Mr. Stavros Asthenidis referred extensively to the “most crucial period” for the projects implemented by the company, in view of the expiry of the Recovery Fund in 2026

As he pointed out, significant progress has been made in recent years, with the ‘Information Society’ steadily increasing the rate of implementation and delivery of digital projects in all areas of the Public sector. Mr. Asthenidis expressed his belief that by June 2026 most projects will have been completed and will be operating normally, provided that the current pace continues and there are no delays in the award procedures or appeals that may slow down the implementation cycle.

At the same time, he stressed that, even for projects that may not be included in the framework of the Fund, there is the possibility of financing them from other available resources, so as not to jeopardize the overall strategy of the country’s digital transformation.

In closing, he underscored that the goal remains constant: the creation of a modern, efficient and fully digital Public sector for the benefit of citizens and businesses.
