What is the object of the project?
The object of the project consists in supplying the required hardware and software and supplying/developing services to meet the needs of users for networking and IP telephony services in the central building of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports. More specifically, the contract includes the supply of goods and services falling under the following categories:
- Hardware:
- Active network equipment with a centralized management system (3 Backbone Network switches)
- Active network equipment (55 Access Network switches)
- Wireless network equipment with a centralized management system (88 wireless access points)
- Structured cabling (vertical and horizontal at 60 workstations)
- IoT and other Sensors (16 per category, temperature and humidity sensors, water detection sensors and door status sensors) 2. Support services:
- Implementation and feasibility study
- Supply of hardware and software
- Hardware installation and configuration services, integration of hardware in the Centralized Network Management System
- Migration of services from previous to new hardware
- Uninstallation of previous wired and wireless hardware (switches, routers, etc.) and structured cabling
- Proper operation and technical support guarantee
- Training services
- Help Desk services
What are the purpose and objectives of the project?
The purpose of the project is to upgrade and supply all necessary technological infrastructure of the user and backbone networks in the building of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports at 37 Andrea Papandreou St., 151 80 Amarousion. The building houses almost all Ministry services, and its network infrastructure equipment has become outdated and technologically obsolete, thus now being at an ‘End of Support and End of Life’ status. Now it needs replacing, to allow Ministry services and employees to be supported by a state-of-the-art network infrastructure that comprises newer technology materials and techniques, is reliable, ensures higher data speeds and features a holistic automated centralized management system, thus streamlining their work experience and laying the foundation for any future technological solution that the Ministry might need.
The project aims to improve the functioning of the central building of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports in Amarousion, by upgrading the Ministry’s wired and wireless infrastructure.
