What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is to extend the functionality of the integrated information system, which will support the process of upgrading the introduction and management of questions in the Question Bank, as well as the support of the search and draw process of questions by the local school units, depending on the specific requirements of each of them.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the security of the system to ensure the integrity of the examinations, but also on the performance of the system so that it can cope with the high load during the days when examinations are held simultaneously in many schools in the country and abroad.
What are the purpose and objectives of the project?
The ultimate objective of this project is to upgrade the System for the Draw, Distribution and Management of Questions from the Question Bank of Graded Difficulty (Q.B.G.D.) for the
needs of the Institute of Educational Policy. The system will support both web and mobile web versions in order to be easily accessible even in special circumstances (e.g. in case there is a problem with the school’s internet connectivity, the same procedure can be easily performed by a teacher from his/her mobile phone). The system will also be able to support sending questions to a specific email if this is possible and meets the necessary security rules.
The purpose of the project regarding the upgrade of the system for the draw, distribution and management of questions of the Question Bank of Graded Difficulty (Q.B.G.D.) is the following:
Regarding the use of the Q.B.G.D. by teachers:
- Easy search for subjects to teach
- Easier and more complete management and updating of the questions of the Q.B.G.D. and provision of tools for collaboration and commenting on questions
- Easy draw of questions on exam days without delays
- Security in the choice of questions and avoiding information leaks
- Detailed action history monitoring for any further investigation if required
Regarding the use of the Q.B.G.D. by students:
- Easy search for questions
- Quick conduct of the exams
- Secure draw and distribution of questions to ensure fairness in the administration of examinations and equal opportunities for all students
Technological objectives:
- Upgrading the infrastructure to a modern cloud architecture that can support high loads
- Additional safeguards in case of malicious attacks during the conduct of exams
- Reduce development time, including delivery time and time to integrate new fields into existing forms
- Reduce the cost of maintaining and upgrading applications
- Automate the backup and fast restore procedure in case of failure or malicious attack
- Provision of modern tools for the use and maintenance of applications
