What is the object of the project?

The object of the project is the extension of the functionality of the Digital Citizen smart mobile device application for the Government of Cyprus. The application will be implemented on the standards of gov.gr Wallet application of the Ministry of Digital Governance, following the Memorandum between Greece and Cyprus on digital transformation.

What are the purpose and objectives of the project?

The Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and Cyprus aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of digital transformation, through the exchange of know-how and experience, and through all structural and functional elements of the digital application “Gov.gr Wallet” for the implementation of the “Digital Citizen” project in Cyprus, on the one hand, and an action plan for the further development of these digital applications for the benefit of both countries and their citizens, on the other hand. The ultimate objective of the Agreement is to improve the digital governance model of the two countries and in particular to improve digital services for citizens. In particular, the Agreement aims at facilitating the movement of citizens of the two states from one state to the other through the use of applications, the use of the applications for the identification of citizens and the simplification of citizens’ transactions with the state, through the use of digital documents issued by these digital applications of the two states.
