What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is the creation of a technological platform and infrastructure to support the modernization of the agricultural sector, which will address the problems of the current situation and will allow the provision of personalized environmental data and updates on open field crop parcels with the use of modern information technology and communications. Essentially, this platform will be the central pillar for the implementation of digital transformation policies at Greek and European level.
More specifically, the object of the project concerns the formation of an integrated technological infrastructure, which will play a catalytic role for the necessary digital leap of the agricultural sector in our country. The project is characterized by a series of innovative elements capable of contributing to the radical treatment with a digital signature of the existing structural – including other – problems of the industry.
Finally, the project has elements of innovation but also elements that are necessary for the adoption of innovation in the Greek reality, as it focuses on some of the following:
- A complete solution that combines modern technologies, valid data and scientific knowledge.
- A structured and adaptable system that can meet the significantly different needs of different user groups (producers, agricultural consultants, researchers, businesses, etc.) and the development of different applications.
- Investing in technological infrastructure and providing services to end users.
