What is Digital Care II?
The “Digital Care II” Program is a continuation of the “DIGITAL CARE” Program, which was successfully completed in 2021 and subsidized over half a million pupils and undergraduate and postgraduate students with vouchers of €200 for the purchase of technological equipment (tablet, laptop, desktop PC).
The action is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with the funding of the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

Who are the beneficiaries?
Potential beneficiaries of the aid for Pillar A of the Program are:
Teachers in the public or private sector (Education Staff, Special Auxiliary Staff and Special Education Staff) who either have an active placement in primary and secondary schools (kindergartens, primary, secondary and high schools) in Greece, or are absent due to a specific reason provided for in the exemptions from the notice.
Potential beneficiaries of the aid for Pillar B of the Program are:
- Families with dependent members between the ages of 4 and 24 who are studying in one of the eligible education levels of the Program, as specified in the notice,
- with their main residence in the areas affected by fires in the calendar year 2021,
- which have suffered damage as a result of the aforementioned fires and have been proven to be temporarily or permanently uninhabitable.
The above conditions apply cumulatively.

What can you get?
The program subsidizes the purchase of the following types of technological equipment:
- Tablets
- Laptops
- Fixed computers (desktops) and optionally, some of their peripherals.
Devices must have a minimum of technical characteristics to be eligible for subsidy. They must also be accompanied by specific warranty and support services, as well as software (antivirus) to protect the device and users when browsing the Internet.
The suppliers of the solutions are entirely responsible for selecting the appropriate equipment packages, which should meet the minimum requirements of the Program. Equipment packages shall be approved by the competent authorities before being put up for sale. The vouchers of the program may be redeemed only on products already approved.
A detailed description of the categories of equipment, their specifications, as well as the composition of each eligible solution for sale are described in detail in the Program Guide (section 5).
Until when can you apply?
Subsidy applications may be lodged between11 May 2022 – 8 July 2022.
Purchases of technological equipment (after the relevant approval of the application and the issuance of the corresponding vouchers) maybemade until 30 September 2022.
Individual deadlines relating to other milestones of the Program are described inthe Program Guide (section 4).
Steps to be taken by beneficiaries:

2. Submission of an Application | The subsidy application is made separately for each category of beneficiaries (pillars A and B) through theelectronic platformof the Program. Beneficiaries should use the personal taxisnet codes they already have. Detailed information for the submission of the application is included in section 11 of the Program Guide |
3. Application Approval | · The beneficiaries of Pillar A (teachers) can directly see the result of their application (approval or rejection). · The beneficiaries of Pillar B (affected by fire) must submit some supporting documents for review and will await the results of the evaluation after a certain time period. · All beneficiaries will be informed of the result of the application they submitted and via SMS on the mobile phone number they will declare. · If the application is rejected, the possibility of submitting a request for review shall be given, as applicable, only for potential beneficiaries of Pillar B. |
4. Receiving vouchers | After their approval, the beneficiaries proceed to issue the vouchers that they will use in their purchases. The vouchers are sent by SMS, but they also appear in the account of the beneficiary (on the electronic platform where the application was submitted). |
5. Market research – product selection | Beneficiaries must conduct a market research and reach the supplier/equipment of their choice. It is the responsibility of suppliers to propose and provide equipment already approved by the Program. |
6. Purchase of products | The beneficiaries proceed to purchase the equipment using the vouchers they have at their disposal. Part (or total) of the cost is covered by the vouchers, while the remaining amount (if the total cost is not covered) is paid by other means of payment by the beneficiary. Detailed information on the purchase of products using the vouchers is included in section 12 of the Program Guide |
7. Receipt, control and activation of equipment | Upon receipt of the subsidized equipment, the beneficiary must directly control and turn on the device. |
8. Returns and cancellations | Any refund must be made within 30 days to enable the (re) activation of vouchers for the next purchase within the period of validity of the Program. |
9. Availability of data for subsequent audit | The Beneficiaries, throughout the two-year warranty period, are obliged to keep the equipment ready for demonstration in any audits to be carried out. They are also required to keep the purchase receipt available for display. Detailed information on the obligations of the beneficiaries in subsequent audits is included in section 8 of the Program Guide |
Suppliers of the program
Commercial retailers in Greece or in European Union Member States may freely sell equipment within the Framework of the Program, provided that the following conditions apply:
- The retailer has submitted an Application for Participation in the Program, which has been approved.
- The same or another supplier has submitted an Application for approval of equipment disposal which has been accepted, and the equipment for sale has already been included in the central register of approved equipment and is up-to-date (approved).
- During the transaction, the individual terms and restrictions of the Program regarding the possible combinations of equipment (eligible solutions) and costs (eligibility rules of expenditure), the possible maximum limits that have been set and the reasonableness of the costs are respected.
- The validity of the voucher is confirmed, which is bound and/or redeemed in accordance with the procedures of the Program.
In addition, manufacturers, official representatives, authorized distributors or independent importers may submit requests for approval of the equipment to be sold.
