Information Society has launched a call for action to upgrade 120,000 buildings with modern telecommunications infrastructure and utility networks. The project, with a budget of 100 million Euros, is funded by the Recovery Fund and provides for a subsidy for:
– The installation of internal wiring that will support broadband high-speed services
– The installation of “smart” meters to record energy consumption
– The installation of infrastructure interconnecting systems for recording the environmental footprint of common facilities, such as central heating.
According to the terms of the action, the buildings which will be funded should be located in areas where fiber-optic networks with a capacity of 1 Gbps have been or will be installed by 2026.
The buildings to be funded will derive from the data submitted by the telecommunications providers, while the interested installers must be registered in the relevant register by 30 June 2023.
