The project of the “Single Digital Citizens and Business Services Infrastructure”, also known as the CRM of the Greek State, with a budget of 69,41 million Euros, acts as an accelerator in the digital modernization of Public Administration. It increases the efficiency and effectiveness of public services and enhances interoperability between the information infrastructures of different bodies.
This is one of the key projects of the “Greece 2.0” project implemented by Information Society and, in practice, extends to an exponential extent the capabilities of the single public portal, the well-known gov.gr. With the implementation of this project, citizens and businesses are able to carry out most of their transactions with the Public Administration from any point and at any time, day and night, weekdays and holidays.
In its full development the project includes a wide range of procedures that improve the level of services provided and reduce the need for citizens and business representatives to be present at the physical service points (such as the Citizens Service Centre (KEP) or the public service communication points). Specifically, the project includes:
- Integration and Interoperability Services.
- Service Access Support Mechanism
- Service Management and Disposal Mechanism
- Customer relationship management mechanism.
- A system for the management of citizens’ consent to access electronic services.
- Analytical information services.
- Service/Contact Centre services.
- Services of de-implementation of physical presence by extending the existing myKEPLive infrastructure and completing it with a physical appointment system.
- Public service implementation services through the digital platform
- Interconnection services of the “Single digital infrastructure for the service of citizens and businesses” with other systems, such as the authentication systems of citizens, the authentication systems of Public Servants and the Central Electronic Document Distribution System.
Furthermore, it is possible to fully control the efficiency of the State structures and to tackle corruption effectively.
As Stavros Asthenidis, CEO of Information Society, has characteristically commented, this project “ensures transparency and integrity in public administration, participation and facilitating the cross-border service of citizens”. The Single Digital Citizen and Business Service Platform will be the key component of providing e-government services that will connect public sector bodies, businesses, citizens and will enable the efficient creation and provision of electronic services through multiple channels of communication and devices, at any time and from anywhere “.
