What is the aim of the Project?
By implementing this project, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority is aiming at its digital transformation, its most efficient operation, the provision of appropriate tools to its users to ensure the most efficient management, recording and processing of personal data infringement incidents, the provision of self-assessment tools regarding the security of personal data in companies and organizations, the effective planning of the Authority’s administrative controls, the facilitation of complaint submission by Citizens to the Authority through different communication channels, the creation of informative and awareness-raising content on personal data protection issues (especially for children), the design and implementation of a Management Information System, as well as the introduction of Virtual Workstations in order to ensure that DPA employees can work remotely in a safe manner.
What does the implementation of the Project entail?
The object of the contract is the expansion of the Integrated Information System for managing requests submitted by citizens, businesses, public services and other bodies through DPA’s web portal, and the provision of services such as the following:
- Design and implementation of a subsystem to assist controllers in relation to the management of personal data infringement incidents and of a tool to assist the DPA in relation to the management of notifications regarding personal data infringement incidents.
- Design and implementation of a self-assessment subsystem in relation to the security and protection of personal data (mainly oriented towards small and medium-sized enterprises and organizations).
- Design and implementation of a subsystem to assist with the planning – execution of DPA’s administrative controls.
- Design and implementation of a subsystem to assist citizens in submitting complaints to the DPA.
- Design and implementation of a subsystem to assist in the exercise of rights towards controllers.
- Creation of informative and awareness-raising web content, especially for children.
- Creation of a chatbot application.
- Design and implementation of a Management Information System (MIS).
- Procurement and implementation of a Virtual Workstations environment.
- Procurement of the necessary database user licenses (RDBMS) and middleware (application servers).
What does the Project achieve?
The Project’s purpose is to adapt the Authority to the new institutional framework of the European Parliament’s Regulation, so as to be able to provide appropriate electronic services to data subjects, controllers and processors.
This project will expand the services provided by the DPA for managing the requests submitted by citizens, businesses, public services and other bodies through the DPA web portal with new features, and it will integrate a Management Information System. In addition, it will provide new opportunities for citizens/businesses to communicate with the Authority and it will ensure a modern and efficient working environment for users at the Authority.
