What is the object of the project?
The object of the project is to develop an Information System for the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication S.A. (EKOME S.A.), which will provide a number of supporting structures both for the Operator as well as for all companies operating in the audiovisual sector.
A National Portal will be created with the main goal of reinforcing the mission of the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication – EKOME and strengthening it as a central core for the development of Greek audiovisual production, entrepreneurship (domestic and foreign) and education in the audiovisual media and communication sector in Greece. The installation of the information system will take place in the environment of the Government Cloud (G-Cloud).
The Information System will be based on a system that will provide usability, extensibility, security, effective viewing and an attractive display of the content, with the main aim of becoming the foundation for the provision of information, updates and for the communication of EKOME and all stakeholders, as well as the public, regarding the possibilities for developing audiovisual productions in Greece.
Another very important overarching and operational goal of the project is that the Information System to be developed will be the main means of interconnecting the film offices that will be established in Greece, both amongst themselves and with EKOME, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the transmitted information, thus contributing to the better management of the National Repository that will be created.
What are the project’s objectives?
The project’s objectives are summarized in the following five (5) main axes:
- Supporting business activity and employment in the audiovisual sector, in all Regions of Greece and in selected Municipalities, by supporting the operation of the Film Offices Network.
- Supporting the provision of investment and financial incentives for audiovisual productions (cash rebate and tax return), providing information on investment and financial instruments related to audiovisual production (Invest).
- Creation of an Audiovisual Files Register and an Audiovisual Works Catalogue. Promotion of the digitized material of the National Repository of Audiovisual Works (EAOA), which is used to salvage, digitize and
utilise audiovisual material, create joint programmes and synergies with public and private bodies, coordinate the actions of archive bodies in the sector (Digitize) - Supporting business activity in the ever-growing field of digital games and video games. Provision of specialized information, programmes and actions.
- Supporting all the organisation’s functions related to the above and, in particular, to the drawing up of strategic guidelines, the expansion of the system in order to include additional functions, as well as the extraction of statistical data for decision-making and informing the institutional actors, due to competence.
By implementing the Integrated Information System OPS-EKOME, the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME) is acquiring a key operational tool for fulfilling its mission: the compete standardization of the licensing procedures of external audiovisual business activities in the country, i.e. a type of activities with exceptional cost-effectiveness for the country, which have remained virtually unexploited for decades due to the strict institutional and regulatory framework governing them.https://www.ktpae.gr/wp-admin/users.php
In particular, in order to ensure the wider utilization of the project’s results, the widest possible synergy of all stakeholders will be pursued, such as, for example, the Greek Film Centre (GFC), the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Regions, Municipalities etc.
Who is funding the project?
The Project is funded by the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020”, within the framework of the NSRF, by the ESF and by National Resources.
