What are the benefits for passengers?
The Action is very important for all KTEL passengers, as the proposed system will improve the quality of the services provided.
Urban and intercity buses will be equipped with integrated telematics and electronic ticketing systems for the overall and unified management of all vehicle telematics, the issuing of e-tickets and the provision of information to passengers via multiple channels in real time, according to the standards of good practices in respective European bodies.
What is the role of Information Society S.M.S.A. and the current status of the Action?
Following the relevant decision which was issued on November 29, 2019 (Government Gazette 4328/B/29-11-2019), Information Society Single-Member S.A. was appointed as the Intermediary Body, immediately starting the process of evaluating the investment plans in the initial invitation, which expired on 31/10/2019.
The evaluation methodology applied was DIRECT and 72 investment projects have been approved to this day with a Total Budget of €20,209,819.92 and Requested Public Expenditure amounting to €12,094,691.95, based on the 2nd Amendment of the Decision of Inclusion under ref. no. 1771/02-03-2021 by the Ministry of Digital Governance (Online Publication Number: Ρ9ΩΨ46ΜΤΛΠ-9Β2).
The Action is in the phase of implementation, monitoring and ensuring the progress of the Beneficiaries’ project, the due observance of schedules and other conditions and restrictions, as well as the completion of the physical and financial scope based on the approved characteristics of each Beneficiary’s project.
More specifically, the procedures for granting advance payments or interim disbursements to Beneficiary companies, which have submitted relevant requests, are currently in progress. To this day, 30 such requests have been submitted and payments over €1,500,000 have been made (data: May 2021).
When was the 2nd Cycle of the Action announced?
On 14/05/2021, the 2nd Cycle of the Action “Aid to businesses in the urban and intercity transport sector for the adoption of systems and the provision of integrated information and electronic ticketing services for passengers” was announced, with a total budget of €4,105,308.05.
How is the 2nd Cycle of the Action funded?
The Action’s Public Expenditure is co-funded by National Resources and the European Union and, in particular by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the framework of the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPANEK)” of the NSRF 2014-2020; it amounts to €4,105,308.05 and it is distributed among the country’s Regions as shown below:

Which projects are subsidized and what is the amount of the subsidy received under the 2nd Cycle of the Action?
For proposals concerning urban KTEL with up to 15 buses: up to 140,000 euro, and with 16 buses or more: up to 330,000 euro.
For proposals concerning intercity KTEL with up to 20 buses: up to 165,000 euro, and with 21 buses or more: up to 330,000 euro.

Implementation Time of the Investment Plans
The deadline for completing the investments being funded may not exceed eighteen (18) months from the date when the Decision of Inclusion was issued.
How do you submit an application within the framework of the 2nd Cycle of the Action?
The funding application must obligatorily be submitted by potential Beneficiaries online, through the State Aid Management Information System (PSKE) (www.ependyseis.gr/mis).
The electronic application file includes the required supporting documents for the submission/inclusion of Annex I in non-editable electronic file format (e.g. pdf file).
