Apparently, 2025 is going to be a pivotal year as rapid developments are expected in the field of IT and technology, with the implementation of important and cutting-edge digital transformation projects in the public sector.<\/p>\n
The greatest challenge for \u2018Information Society\u2019, i.e. the central hub of the Ministry of Digital Governance for the planning, development and implementation of digital transformation projects, is how to administer the resources \u2014not financial ones\u2014 available to businesses and the Hellenic State in order to make sure that all these projects are delivered on time, without compromising quality. We have to make the most of the financing provided by the Recovery Fund, which expires in 2026 and entails tight schedules and strict requirements.<\/p>\n
Therefore, by prioritizing the utilization of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (\u2018Greece\u00a02.0\u2019), which provides for large-scale projects for the digitization of public services and infrastructure, we are intensifying our efforts to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and strengthen cybersecurity in the public sector.<\/p>\n
We must expand the use of AI in the entire Greek public sector, aiming to minimize digital bureaucracy.<\/p>\n
As part of that effort, we recently launched a tender for the \u2018development of actions using artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline public administration.\u2019<\/p>\n
The project consists in the procurement \u2014by the Ministry of Digital Governance\u2014 on behalf of other public sector entities of services for the analysis, design and implementation of AI-based applications and solutions.<\/p>\n
That is, the aim is to further digitize public services in order to reduce the man-hours spent on tasks that could be carried out through automated procedures.<\/p>\n
We want the Greek public sector to gradually and methodically enter the era of AI, where digital applications will make the operation of the Hellenic State more efficient.<\/p>\n
I would also like to point out that, in the face of increased digital threats, cybersecurity will be a top priority for businesses and public services in the coming years. It is our duty to increase digital infrastructure and protect personal data.<\/p>\n
These are just a few of the numerous initiatives we need to launch for the new year as developments in the field of digital technologies are expected to be rapid, with significant changes in all sectors of economy and society.<\/p>\n
Make no mistake, new opportunities for businesses and professionals will emerge in the IT sector. The growing demand for skilled IT staff will lead to changes in the labor market, and society will keep placing more and more demands on technology.<\/p>\n
