At the same time, Web GIS infrastructure will be developed (by upgrading the ArcGIS Enterprise installed) at the Central Service, enabling the creation, use and sharing of maps and web applications.<\/p>\n<p>The new structure of NECCA\u2019s Geographical Information System should enable procedures such as the creation, storage, management and processing of geographic databases (GeoDatabases), as well as advanced visualization, spatial analysis and processing features, both in Desktop and Web environments, so as to provide solutions to issues such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Desktop GIS tools for collecting, processing, managing, analysing 2D and 3D geographic information, and publishing it online.<\/li>\n<li>Central management of all NECCA\u2019s geospatial data through a user-friendly environment, in a single web platform.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of advanced spatial analysis and modelling.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the integrity and completeness of data, both during the use and online transfer thereof, through appropriate mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to support multiple concurrent users of the Agency\u2019s Central Service and the Protected Areas Management Units (PAMU).<\/li>\n<li>Creation of GIS Applications both for internal organization and to cover the service\u2019s needs, as well as for the cooperation with the Protected Areas Management Units (PAMU) and third services.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of mechanisms for the continuous and uninterrupted operation of the GIS.<\/li>\n<li>Central data management in a single Database.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of GIS Applications (Field, Analysis and Design of Geographic Information, provision of information to the public, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>The architecture will be multi-tier and modular, thus facilitating the distribution of costs and the load between the central systems of NECCA and the workstations at PAMUs.<\/li>\n<li>The use of new tools for recording and updating geographic data on site (ArcGIS Field Maps) will be possible at PAMUs.
